Kitchen Questions and Answers

What is a bespoke kitchen?
A bespoke kitchen is a fully custom-designed space tailored specifically to your home, lifestyle, and personal taste. Every detail, from layout to materials, is made to measure and crafted by us, rather than relying on off-the-shelf components.
Q. What guarantees does Broadway offer?

Your kitchen from Broadway is made to last a lifetime and give decades of pleasure.

In the unlikely event that you need after-sales service, then Broadway guarantees to repair and replace, free of all charges for labour and materials, any product which develops faults due to defective materials or construction during the guarantee period. Furniture is guaranteed for 10 years and appliances for 1 year. However, even an occasional Broadway customer returning after 15, 20 or 30 years to resolve a minor problem is rarely sent an invoice.

Q. Does Broadway only make expensive kitchens?

We consider ourselves to be one of the cheapest, bespoke kitchen manufacturers in the UK.

Having said that, much will depend on the size of your kitchen as well as your choice of cupboards and worktops. As a guideline, Broadway designs, manufactures and supplies luxury kitchen furniture from £15,000 to £90,000 and beyond.

It doesn’t matter whether a customer lives in a terraced house or a moated manor house. There’s a Broadway kitchen to suit each owner’s budget. Broadway can usually beat any like-for-like written quotation, sometimes by as much as 30%.

Having our manufacturing facilities in our own premises in the Midlands means that our overheads are low and you are dealing directly with the kitchen manufacturer. Any middleman’s profit is cut out and we pass these savings on to you, the customer.

Q. Does Broadway only make bespoke traditional kitchens?

Historically Broadway is best known for Edwardian, Georgian, Victorian, Regency and country-style kitchens. Our best seller is our ornate Knightsbridge range. However each Broadway fitted kitchen is designed to meet the needs of the purchaser within the scope of their room and budget. As customer taste varies so too do Broadway's bespoke designs. We are right at home designing the clean lines of ultra-modern, sophisticated kitchens.

Whatever a customer’s preference our high quality kitchens and attention to detail remain consistent whether in a traditional, shaker or contemporary style.

Q. Does Broadway work outside the Midlands?

Broadway bespoke kitchens can be found in all counties across England, Scotland and Wales; in towns, villages, cities and rural locations. Our customer base is diverse; good taste and an appreciation of quality are not restricted to one sector of the population, any specific occupations or location.

Q. Does Broadway have a strong sales force?

We have no sales force and no potential customer comes under any sales pressure from Broadway. Our initial consultation takes less than 30 minutes and you will face no deadline from us to place your order by.

We pride ourselves on happy customers who often become friends and return to buy from Broadway if they move house, update an existing kitchen or fit out other rooms such as bedrooms, studies or home media centres.

Q. Can Broadway make special kitchen cupboards?

Yes! Almost every kitchen cupboard installed by Broadway is special because it’s made to suit not only the kitchen itself but the lifestyle and preference of the customer. Even when each worktop, carcass, door, cornice and pelmet is truly a bespoke one-off it doesn’t mean that it carries a price premium. For us, special comes as standard.

Q. Is Broadway really a family business?

The same family which has owned and run Broadway since it was established in 1974 is still at the helm every day of the week. Two sons, one grandson and other members of the founder’s family are responsible for every aspect of the company and its ongoing success. Broadway owns its own manufacturing premises and machinery so the company has no debts and is secure even against unfavourable trading conditions.

Original Broadway customers from the 1970's regularly drop in to the showroom for a coffee and a chat with the same man who designed and installed their kitchen. More and more frequently those original customers are sending their children and grandchildren to our showroom to experience a truly personal service and to become part of the extended ‘Broadway family’ of customers.

Q. Does Broadway also buy-in kitchens from others?

Yes, insofar as a very tiny number of specialist doors with special finishes are externally sourced from other specialist manufacturers. From raw timber to finished unit the overwhelming majority of carcasses, doors, pelmets, cornices and pilasters are manufactured in our carpentry workshops. Customers are invited to see their actual kitchen being made just before delivery and installation.

Specialist builders, plasterers, tilers and decorators are regularly contracted to work on Broadway installations to the same exacting standards as all our employees.

Q. Does Broadway do rooms other than kitchens?

It’s true to say that Broadway specialises in bespoke, luxury kitchens but that is by no means exclusive. We will just as readily design, manufacture and install bedrooms, a home office or study, entertainment areas, home media walls, dressing areas, bathrooms and playrooms, often with free-standing furniture, to the same level of quality and expertise as Broadway kitchens.
